R.W. Diamond
R.W. Diamond, Cominco engineer and Administrator, led the team that developed the flotation method for the complex Sullivan Mine Ore (1918), and he led the project to produce chemical fertilizers at Trail in the late 1920's. Diamond won many awards for his accomplishments in the Metallurgical industry including: 1934: The McCharles Medal and Award from the University of Toronto. 1935: The Leonard Medal from the Engineering Institute of Canada. 1948: The Julian C. Smith Medal from the Engineering Institute if Canada. 1948: The Selwyn G. Blaylock Medal from the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. 1951: The Platinum Medal from the Institute of Medals, London. 1956: The Gold Medal from the Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, London.
