Hi, sent info to guestbook yesterday but forgot to mention that William Owen Jones was known as BILL JONES (and may have had the knickname "king").
Had also a brother called Richard Barron Jones who died in the airforce over Germany 1945.

My father came to Trail, B.C. when he arrived from Friuli, Italy. I think the year would have been around 1949? I would very much like to trace the family Bortolussi, and Bertuzzi history. Can anyone help me here? It would greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Thank you for dedicating a wall to Jeff Lakes. He was a wonderful man that I knew as a young girl. We think of him every Thanksgiving, the anniversary of meeting him.
Thank you!

My, this is great fun hearing all these stories. I remember the 2 dairies we had at Mary's Flats. I went to the grade school in East Trail and had Beetstra for classmate.
My dad's brother and his family (Alex, Jenny and son Alex)
lived on the 3rd ave corner across from the school.
I still have all my old grade school photos.
Remember the trips to Nelson for the Music Festivals?

About Caslers in Trail. Our family -Harold, Beatrice, Edith and Joyce lived at 1835 Second Avenue right across from Butler Park. Directly behind ud on Third lived the Casler family. I remember Roy .
In later years he watched out for Mrs Currie widow of Hamilton Currie. I don't know who bought the house after Mr. Currie died. I just looked in phone book and there are5 Caslers listed.Castlegar Trail and Fruitvale.
E mail me for phone numbers etc.

My family, John & Mary Baron , my brother & I arrived in Trail, B.C. in 1937 from Carlowrie, Manitoba. My Dad worked in the smelter as a carpenter. Ronald & I attended the L.S. Morriish Elementary School in East Trail. Our home was located at 1562 - 5th. Avenue East Trail. The
family moved back to Carlowrie, Manitoba in 1945. Does any one remember the Rio Theatre in East Trail? We were able to watch a movie & purchase a treat for a total of 25 cents. as we watched Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Tex Ritter. Well, those names will certainly date me.

Bye for now.

Just a great Website you have. I am searching information on my uncle (fathers brother) Louis S. Sorensen, who I know for sure lived in 950 Shofield Road in Trail in September 1939, and Louis works in a leadmelting factory.
I had hoped to find usable info in your site-but as many times before - in vane.

I just found out that my grandmother, Alma Casler (married name - Ede) moved to Nelson in 1910. Her father died in 1911 after buying 2 city blocks of land near a cemetary road (at the end of hall or fall st). Brothers names - Wilbert, Frank there were two others as well. Both the named brothers were tinsmiths at the smelter. Would love to know if any family exists there still or any information and/or how to get it.
